How Does a Preventive Health Exam Work?
Adult preventive health exams may differ in their focus. Among the most common purposes are:
- Physical examinations, also known as “check-ups,” are performed regularly (once per year)
- Mammogram (once per year after age 40), by requisition
- Vaccination boosters (as needed)
- Colonoscopy – colon cancer screening (once every ten years after age 50), by requisition
- Annual vaccinations (influenza)
